Savage is branching out to a wonderful local gallery called Bluprint Green located at the heart of Palm Springs. Owner Robin Quinta is diving in and inviting artists from all over the valley to take part in his vision and Savage is there to help with his success. Stop over and see what it is all about. Visit www.BluprintGreenGallery.com for more information and location. Taking the last month to gather myself and make some changes to the gallery I am ready to get back into the swing of things for the summer season. Savage Gallery has a very exciting event with a very special ASID mixer June 8th featuring the art of Laura Janes followed by the opening of a new Savage Satellite Gallery space on Palm Canyon in Palm Springs. Stay tuned for updates. Savage Gallery is taking a break and freshing up with new paint and some redesign. We will be back to putting on amazing events in May. Here is a sneak peak at some of the changes.
Opening Night Party: Tim Gerken's
FAIR TRADE - Photography Exhibit When: Friday, April 6, 2012 6:00 - 9:00 PM Where: Savage Gallery 870 Research Drive Palm Springs, CA 92262 760-464-5978 Description: Provocative, sexy, homoerotic exhibit of Carnies and Cowboys at the County Fair. Celebrated photographer Tim Gerken captures the testosterone-driven, natural beauty of men in this striking, colorful and down right "hawt" show at The Savage Gallery. Opening Night Party - Friday of White Party Weekend. Show runs thru April 15. The artist describes his show: "The dirt and sugar sit together on the Waffle Cake and the deep fried Oreos melt your tongue, but there is beauty in the lights and the swagger of the young men that walk the midway. Alone, in a group, or with their girl—maybe with a tiger in her arms—each carries a confidence that only these fairs seem to bring out. I think it is this momentary freedom that I find attractive: even the little guy, swings the hammer and tries to ring the bell; the chubby kid smiles next to his prize winning hog. There is a natural beauty in these men. (But, I have seen their fathers and it doesn’t necessarily last). They become part of the games they play and I love trying to catch that."
