Savage Gallery Wows Latest Show Attendees An evening devoted to art on Saturday October 1, 2011 was once again a stellar success at the beautiful Savage Gallery and Boutique in Palm Springs , California , featuring The Morongo Basin Cultural Arts Council's 10th Annual Hwy 62 Art Tour Preview Show. The high quality and variety of the art -- from whimsical kitschy to mighty cerebral and everything in between -- inspired the hundred or so attendees. Several of the artists were able to sell work to happy patrons-of-the-arts such as collector Charles "Chuck" Backman, who purchased the humorous assemblage piece, "The Ascension of Ronald McDonald" by Zono. There were sales in the adjoining boutique, where that rare, one-of-a-kind item struck a cord in a buyer. Great food was served and drinks at the bar were provided through a nominal donation. Live, original ambient music was performed by the music group, Polio Sugar. Savage, the gallery owner, was more than pleased. "The shows are connecting artists, patrons and the community in a heart-felt, mutually-beneficial way," he says. "It's great to be taken seriously as an art destination, but also provide an atmosphere of learning and entertainment where everyone walks away feeling good." The gallery exhibition will be extended through October 9, 2011 by appointment only.
